Sea and Sky
Simon Conolly’s Sea and Sky assembly of works reflects two distinct influences upon his artistic development.
Simon was born and raised in Portsmouth on the South coast of England. The sea, the harbour, and the tidal creeks dominated the landscape. The fluid movement and constantly changing patterns created by fish in numbers gave a regular source of ideas and inspiration.
Simon now lives in land-locked Shropshire. But similar patterns can be observed in the sky. Birds in numbers can produce the same sense of fluidity and form.
Simon is a Member and Honorary Curator of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA). He is also a Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA).
Exhibition closes: Saturday 2 May 5.00pm
