On Sunday the Society held its annual general meeting, votes were counted, and the results of the Candidates election were announced.
Since the 10 April, Members and Associates have been visiting the Gallery to view the Candidates Exhibition and cast their votes for whom they would like to see inducted into the Society. This year we had 23 Candidates for Associateship and four existing Associates wishing to progress to Member. When considering each Candidate, Members and Associates were incredibly diligent in making sure they read every artists’ statement in order to understand each body of work and the artistic practice behind it. As well as considering the quality of the work, a candidate’s potential involvement with the Society and Gallery we also taken into account.
