The latest programme of Workshops at the RBSA Gallery went by in a flash of paint, charcoal and thread and was a huge success! Led by professional artists, the sessions covered a wide variety of subjects, techniques and media and enabled participants to experience expert tuition from our workshop leaders in a friendly and supportive environment.
The Autumn Workshop programme included life drawing, painting from photographs, colourful pastels, urban photography, creative hand-stitch, linocut printing, experimental oil painting, experimental life drawing and the art of paper cutting and all proved very popular!
RBSA Workshops are open to all, no matter your skill level, experience or background. You may wish to learn a new skill, further develop your own practice, or really step out of your comfort zone and try something creative for the first time! Workshop programmes run three times a year with the next sessions scheduled for February 2023, keep your eye on our website and sign up when the next programme is announced!
Workshop tutors mix live demonstrations with plenty of working time and throughout the sessions are always on hand to guide participants and offer their knowledge and expertise. This programme saw sessions run by Tina Willis-Jones RBSA, Zarina Keyani, Janette Summerfield RBSA, Olivia Swinscoe, Judith Rowley, Eric Gaskell RBSA and Clare Pentlow, all professional and successful artists within their field.
Our workshop participants thoroughly enjoyed their chosen sessions with one commenting that the tuition was excellent and very encouraging. One member of the Experimental Life Drawing group also said that, despite being nervous before the class, the tutor immediately put everyone at ease and made them feel comfortable and confident.
