About This Exhibition
The first RBSA Watercolour Prize in over a decade invites artists creating work using water-based media to enter artwork. Work made using any water-based media is eligible; this includes gouache, acrylic, ink, pigment, watercolour, or a mixed media piece containing any of this list. While there are restrictions on the media used, we encourage both 2D and 3D work.
We welcome entries from professional and emerging artists based locally, nationally, and internationally. There are three prizes to be won, including £1,000 First Prize, £500 Second Prize, and £250 Third Prize. Up to six highly commended certificates will also be awarded.
Selection for the Watercolour Prize is by digital image of the original artwork only. All works entered go through the same anonymous selection process. The selection is based on the assessment of the quality and interest of each work.

Entry Fees
Artists may enter up to four pieces of work in total.
- Free for RBSA Graduate Artists
- 50% discount for artists under 35 (please provide proof on delivery of artwork)
1 entry: £19
2 entries: £32
3 entries: £40
4 entries: £48
Terms
- All entry fees must be paid by Tuesday 24 June 4pm. Entries with outstanding fees will not be accepted
- 50% discount for artists aged under 35
- Please note that all display fees are non-refundable

- Card payments can be taken at the Gallery or over the phone

Images of artwork
When submitting artwork, please ensure that photographs of the work are at least 2000 pixels across the smallest dimension and 300dpi in resolution. Image files must be JPG or PNG.
