About This Exhibition
The RBSA Drawing Prize invites artists whose work us rooted in drawing to enter artwork.
This is a technique prize, meaning that we invite entries from artists working in all styles and media; the only restriction is that the technique must be drawing. All drawing practices are welcome, including digital drawing and 3D works.
We welcome entries from professional and emerging artists based locally, nationally, and internationally. There are three prizes to be won, including £1,000 First Prize, £500 Second Prize, and £250 Third Prize. Up to six highly commended certificates will also be awarded.
Selection for the Drawing Prize is by digital image of the original artwork only. All works entered go through the same anonymous selection process. The selection is based on the assessment of the quality and interest of each work.
The 2025 exhibition judges are to be confirmed.
This is the second RBSA Drawing Prize to be held; the first show in 2023 was a huge success.
An exhibition catalogue featuring all selected works will be available to purchase throughout the exhibition and will be added to the RBSA Archive ensuring that your inclusion is documented in our history.
This year’s exhibition is to be held across both Gallery 1 and Gallery 2.

How to Enter
Entry to the exhibition is via the online form listed above.
Before entering, please ensure that you have read and understood everything outlined in the exhibition pack, and that your work adheres to our terms and conditions.
Entry Fees
Artists may enter up to four pieces of work in total.
- Free for RBSA Graduate Artists
- 50% discount for artists under 35 (please provide proof on delivery of artwork)
1 entry: £19
2 entries: £32
3 entries: £40
4 entries: £48
Terms
- All entry fees must be paid by Tuesday 15 April 4pm. Entries with outstanding fees will not be accepted
- 50% discount for artists aged under 35
- Please note that all display fees are non-refundable
Payments
- Payment can be made via the links at the bottom of this page
- Card payments can be taken at the Gallery or over the phone
- Please phone the Gallery to pay over the phone if you are under 35 and eligible for the 50% discount
- All entry fees must be paid by Tuesday 14 April at 4pm otherwise work will not be considered
- Please note that all entry fees are non-refundable
Images of artwork
When submitting artwork, please ensure that photographs of the work are at least 2000 pixels across the smallest dimension and 300dpi in resolution. Image files must be JPG.
