About the maker:
Jo graduated with a degree in Design Crafts. She specialised in jewellery and silversmithing, using illustrations as an underlying narrative to inform her 3D practice. She now works from her studio based in Birmingham and creates ‘modern art for the body’.
Jo tends to use the abstraction of shapes that can be found all around us, collaging using papers and experimenting with colour to create the theme of her collections. She then begins to work in her final chosen materials. Her jewellery is about integrating different elements to create statement jewellery with minimal design that focuses on colour and geometrical shapes.
Jo strives to be as sustainable as possible in her work, so all items are made using recycled precious metals and sustainable/ethical stones. All metal used is 100% sterling silver and is recycled by her.
