Petra Röhr-Rouendaal

Petra studied fine art in Germany and later did a postgraduate degree at the University of Brighton. Her expressive sculptures, together with her paintings, have been influenced by her life and experiences in Africa. The colours, the light, the spirit of the people are all reflected in her work. As an accomplished graphic designer and book illustrator, she also set up the first art school and silkscreen-printing workshop in Botswana. Most of her artwork is figurative. With sculpture she experiments with different firing techniques like Raku and smoke-firing as well as resin and bronze casting.

Petra is a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA), Birmingham Art Circle, Sutton Coldfield Society of Artists, Easel Club, and the Midlands Potters Association. She started the Sutton Coldfield Art Trail in 2016. Petra regularly exhibits in group and solo exhibitions, in the UK and abroad. She has won numerous art prizes and sells her work worldwide.
