Carole Baker works as a professional artist from her purpose built Studio in Weston Heath, Shropshire. Inspired by the landscape, bold, vibrant colour and texture fascinate her and she strives to create exciting and evocative paintings. She works in acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and, more recently, oils.
Inspiration comes from her travels: sketching prolifically and creating finished work en plein air. Carole gather’s enough information to develop a series of paintings both in terms of detail and colour and she sees the use of sketches and photographs taken on location as a starting point only… tending to paint the way she feels to capture the essence of a place.
Carole attended Matthew Boulton College and later studied at Lichfield School of Art. Elected Full Member of the RBSA in April 2008, she exhibits in open exhibitions and art fairs throughout the UK and her work is held in many collections all over the world. She also runs a busy programme of workshops, painting holidays and demonstrations.
