Martyn Harris

Martyn, is a realist painter working in the classical traditions of portraiture and landscape. Having 40 years experience as a painter and gaining accolades for his work nationally. He gains inspiration from nature and works mainly from life, striving to capture the essence of the subject.

A resident artist at The Art Yard, recently an elected Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (ARBSA), a member of the Birmingham Art Circle and has regularly exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA), The Mall Galleries and been selected for The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition at The Mall Galleries in 2022 and 2023.

• Winner of the RBSA Prize ”Peoples Choice Award” in 2022.
• Winner of the “Margorie Green” Award in 2022.
• Winner of the Society of All Artists (SAA) Professional Artist of the year in 2020.
• Awarded BAC “Presidents Award” in 2019.

Martyn, was also a featured Artist in “Portrait for NHS heroes” project publication and featured in a LA  Art magazine. He takes regular commissions and has work available in Independent galleries and has work in private collections in the UK and overseas.
