About Arthur Lockwood – Urban and Industrial Watercolours:

“This book shows paintings by three generations of artists from the same family who all use watercolour. Section one has work by my father, Frank T. Lockwood, who painted rural and urban subjects in the Midlands for over forty years. I absorbed an affection and skill for painting in watercolour from my father when I went, at the age of nine, with him on outings to paint ‘on the spot’. Section two shows these paintings as well as work from my training at Birmingham Collect of Art. I worked as a freelance designer for publishers in London before returning to the Midlands in 1987 to paint full time. Section three shows these paintings of urban and industrial subjects done over the last twenty-five years. Section four ends the book with some work by my son, Paul, whose watercolours created from his imagination are in a different tradition to that of painting ‘on the spot’.” Arthur Lockwood

This gorgeous coffee table book is a wonderful gift for any Birmingham local or Black Country native.
