Vivienne Cawson’s professional painting career began in 2005, after running an art and design department in further education for several years. She has enjoyed considerable success in exhibiting both locally and nationally.
Having trained as a textile designer, pattern and colour remain important to her and are the main focus for her compositions. She enjoys the
contrast of natural form with geometric pattern.
Her aim is not to produce faithful reproductions, but to be inspired by the information in front of her in order to produce a spontaneous reaction. This process aims to keep her paintings alive and fresh.
She was elected as an Associate of the RBSA in 2010 and a Member in 2013. She is currently Vice President.
