Stephen Field works as a muralist, mosaicist, glass artist and public sculptor. Much of his work is inspired by the history and mythology of the Black Country. He enjoys using local materials such as iron, steel, cast glass and limestone.
He was elected as an Associate of the RBSA in 2006, and as a Member in 2008. Awards include the Royal Society of Arts ‘Art for Architecture’ Award in 1993 and an Arts and Business Award in 2005 for his Dudley Hospital Arts Project.
Stephen has undertaken many public sculpture commissions for industrialised areas including Wednesbury, Dudley and Sheffield. He has also worked at BBC Pebble Mill, Wolverhampton Polytechnic, Stoke National Garden Festival and Midlands Art Centre.
