Shirley Bonas gained a Diploma in Art and Design at Stourbridge College, followed by a degree in Fine Art at the University of Wolverhampton.
She was a Lecturer at Stourbridge College for many years and during this period was awarded two Arts Council/National Lottery Grants for her work in Adult Education and Community Arts Projects.
She is a past President of Birmingham Watercolour Society. Her work has regularly been exhibited in Open Exhibitions both locally and nationally and she has received various prizes and commendations over many years.
Shirley’s recent work encompasses a love of the Wyre Forest and local countryside, during all seasons and all weathers, scents, colours, misty lights, gentle breezes and beckoning footpaths, building a relationship with the environment.
