Peter Shread

Peter Shread trained at Birmingham College of Art and Crafts and then taught at schools in Dudley. Elected a Member of the RBSA in 2002, his prints have been exhibited throughout the Midlands and around the country. His work was exhibited at RA Summer Exhibitions in 2012, 2013 and 2015.

While the main focus of his work is landscape, he has also made a series of prints of the local canal network and a series featuring musicians and orchestras inspired by visits to CBSO concerts.

His prints of Midland and Welsh landscapes strive to combine a strong decorative sense whilst revealing the topography of the land. This emphasis on design has led to a number of public art commissions for Dudley MBC and Midland Metro.

In 2006 he won the RBSA Open Print Prize and the Printmaking Today Prize. Recently he has concentrated on painting landscape, which remains his main inspiration.
