Peter Richmond is trained as an engineer in the aerospace industry and in later life took up painting.
Influenced by one of his teachers, Arthur Bell Foster RBSA, Peter used watercolour as a means of sketching preparatory to painting in oils. Because he enjoys painting on the spot in the countryside so much, watercolour became his main medium. Peter does paint in oils and watercolour in his studio, but much prefers the light, atmosphere and immediacy of painting outdoors.
He was elected as an Associate of the RBSA in 1978 and a Member in 1983 and his paintings are in many private collections in the UK and abroad.
