Lindsay Pritchard has been working as a professional artist since 2010, exhibiting, having gallery representation, taking commissions, and running creative workshops. She appeared as a pod artist on Sky Landscape Artist of the Year in 2017 and has work in the New Art Gallery Walsall’s permanent collection.
Originally trained to MA level as an illustrator, she now focuses on landscape painting and divides her time between her Midlands based studio and the landscape of Northern England.
Her work has its roots in the remote, empty landscapes of the Pennine Moors which captivated her as a child travelling from the industrial West Midlands to Yorkshire on family visits. Since then she has been fascinated by wild, open moorland, upland fells and hidden valleys, regularly visiting Cumbria on painting trips. She enjoys working en-plein air to experience the shifting weather patterns, sights and sounds around her as she paints and through the medium of oil, she aims to transpose this onto canvas to recreate the sensory experience of being submerged in the raw, wild landscape at the mercy of the elements.
