Helen Appleby is a textile artist. She uses silks, organdie, organza and muslin with delicate hand and machine embroidery. Her work is influenced by landscape, trees and flowers – sometimes by buildings.
Helen attempts to capture sights and moods.
She likes sweeping curves and emphatic lines and is interested in opposites, such as dark and light, strength and frailty. Her aim is to create elegant and thought-provoking compositions.
