Francesca Currie is a figurative artist specialising in portraiture and still life. She graduated from Norwich University College of the Arts in 2012 and went on to study figurative work at the London Atelier Representational Art, giving her the tools that she needed to set up her independent practice in 2015.
Since then, she has exhibited across the country, including at the RBSA, The John Noott Gallery in Broadway, The Blue Tree Gallery in York, and at The Mall Galleries, London. She was made Associate to the RBSA in 2017 and elected a Member in 2018.
She has taken on many private and public portrait commissions, including the Official Portraits of the Bishop of Worcester (on permanent display at the Old Palace, Worcester) and of the Sword Bearer of Worcester (on permanent display at the Guildhall, Worcester). She combines the traditional techniques of the Old Masters with a contemporary viewpoint to create classical representational oil paintings with a modern twist.
