Colin Simmonds lives at Stoke Lacy near Bromyard, surrounded by the rolling countryside of North Herefordshire.
From his early days studying Fine Art at secondary school, Colin was trained to observe and record in a very disciplined way. Moving on to art college brought many challenges with the introduction to twentieth century art. Colin now sees landscape painting as the vehicle for exploring the full range of his painterly ideas, involving the questioning of emotional responses to atmosphere, colour and composition.
He has had his work exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London; The Royal West of England Academy; The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and the Europe Salon in Brussels.
