Brian Steventon starts his processes by collecting information directly from the subject. Sometimes the sketch becomes the finished work, or it may be used to produce finished work in the studio. His subject matter is wide and varied. He is a responsive artist who paints expressively, stretching his vision into a semi-representational or abstracted work. Colour, shapes and space are important drivers.
Steventon exhibits widely throughout the UK and his work is featured in Stephen Fry’s “Kingdom” series. He was included in the Who’s Who in Art – 2010 edition and produced a range of works for the Black Country Living Museum and was a semi-finalist in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the year 2016. His work is in numerous private collections internationally.
Brian is an elected member of The Easel Club, Birmingham Watercolour Society and Birmingham Art Circle. He has tutored throughout the Europe as a lead tutor for Authentic Adventures.
