Dr Bing Shi was born in China and spent his childhood and youth there. He has a PhD, not in Art, but in Human Resource Management. He has been teaching at the universities across the UK and China in that field even though his true love has always been art. Not until his late 40s, Dr Bing Shi started oil painting.
Dr Bing Shi specialises in portrait. He likes to explore the rhythm of shadows and lights to uncover human emotions and spirits. His works have been shown in RBSA Open (highly commanded in 2020), RBSA Prize, and Oxford Art Society Open exhibitions.
