DESCRIPTION:Impressions Of China \nDavid George RBSA is a self-taught artist who has a passion for painting landscapes\, beachscapes\, portraits\, and interiors. \nDavid has won numerous awards and has exhibited widely across Britain in many open exhibitions\, group shows\, and solo exhibitions. \nDavid lives in Harlech\, North Wales\, with regular painting forays into Shropshire\, Devon\, and his native Black Country. SUMMARY:Andrew Barrowman ARBSA
DESCRIPTION:My Warwickshire \nCornwall-based landscape artist Andrew Barrowman ARBSA primarily works en plein air\, often exploring ‘off the beaten track’ in his daily sketching routine\, seeking out alternative views of familiar places. While his studio is based at Krowji in Redruth\, My Warwickshire represents an evocative return to the landscapes of his youth. \nThis exhibition brings together twenty oil paintings produced directly on location along the rivers Avon and Dene\, the Stratford canal\, and local country lanes. Working in oil en plein air\, Andrew embraces the challenge of the changing elements\, translating immediate atmospheric shifts into painterly brushwork and rich texture. Synthesising years of preparatory outdoor sketches with live observation\, these pieces capture fleeting moments in time. The collection stands as a testament to the technical challenges of working from life\, mapping the physical and nostalgic routes that connect the artist back to his roots. \nAndrew is a full member of The Pastel Society in London and an Associate member of the RBSA. SUMMARY:Roger Griffiths RBSA
DESCRIPTION:Roger Griffiths RBSA is a self-taught landscape artist using watercolours and mixed media with acrylic paints. He is a retired landscape architect with an interest in geology and the physical activities which shaped the landscape. Roger was elected an RBSA Member in 2011\, has exhibited in the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours at the Mall Galleries\, and\, in 2015\, appeared on Sky TV’s Landscape Artist of the Year\, painting at Trelissick in Cornwall. \nHis painting process starts with sketches on site which are then abstracted\, cropped\, and collaged. SUMMARY:RBSA Prize 2026
DESCRIPTION:The biennial RBSA Prize celebrates creativity and innovation by promoting work at the cutting edge of contemporary art. While this exhibition includes work by artists based locally\, nationally\, and internationally\, those with more contemporary practices were encouraged to submit work\, allowing the RBSA to shine a light on artwork that is pushing boundaries. \nAs one of the most exciting contemporary arts venues in Birmingham\, the RBSA Gallery provides exhibiting artists with an excellent platform to showcase their artwork to a large and diverse audience. \nAn enormous variety of techniques and approaches are represented in the works on display\, exploring a myriad of different themes and concepts.
