Philip has been exploring the canals around Birmingham for the last year. He is enthralled by the silent presence of water in the city and the mechanisms that make it all work. It is these physical features that he has captured, often close-up. The ageing materiality is a focus of his gaze.
This is the first of a series of exhibitions and forums that the work will be shown in, as it is an ongoing body of work.
