About This Exhibition

An open media exhibition of contemporary work.

The RBSA Prize Exhibition is an opportunity for artists to exhibit their work and be rewarded for their talents. The exhibition celebrates creativity and innovation by promoting work at the cutting edge of contemporary art. This is an international call which invites artists working in all media and styles to enter. We welcome submissions from both established and emerging artists.

The RBSA Gallery is an exciting and contemporary arts venue based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. It is run by an historic society with over 200 years of fascinating history. As such, the RBSA Prize provides a great platform for professional development and industry networking. Artists selected for the exhibition have the chance to showcase their art to a large and diverse audience and gain recognition for their work.

By participating in this exhibition, artists become part of a rich tradition that has been nurturing artistic talent for over two centuries. Whether you are a seasoned professional or an up-and-coming artist, the RBSA Prize Exhibition offers a valuable opportunity to advance your artistic journey and gain meaningful exposure in the art world.

The following prizes will be awarded:

  • First prize £1000
  • Second prize £500
  • Third prize £250
  • Student prize £250
  • Watercolour Prize £250
  • People’s Choice Prize
  • Up to six Highly Commended certificates will also be awarded

Selection for the Prize is by digital image of the original artwork only. All works entered go through the same selection process. No artists, including Members and Associates of the RBSA, are automatically selected. Selection is completely anonymous and is based on the assessment of the quality and interest of each work.

  • David Ferry PRE, President of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers
