'Frottage'

Family Friendly Workshop run by Roger Keeling ARBSA

27th November 2010

‘I took my daughter to this workshop. We both enjoy art and I was curious as I’d never heard of ‘frottage’. We arrived early to look round the gallery before the workshop began. My daughter liked a textile picture titled ‘Summer Pudding’, and went on to make cakes the theme of one of her pictures. There were four other children and two adults booked on the workshop. Roger showed us some great frottage work done by other children, to inspire us and give us some ideas. The workshop was relaxed and fun, but well organised. I didn’t feel under any pressure to have a go myself but decided I would. I’m glad I did because I enjoyed it. Frottage is a technique that could be easily done at home but has great potential. I thought this workshop was very good value for money, and we enjoyed seeing all the art and craftwork in the gallery as well. Here are some pictures made by my daughter during the workshop.’
