Paul Hipkiss, deceased

Paul trained at Stourbridge College of Art and then taught in secondary schools. He became Head of Art and Design at Shenley Court School. Originally trained as a potter, Paul turned to printmaking in the 1980s and since then he has worked with various print methods including dry-point, relief printing and collagraph. He was elected as an associate of the RBSA in 1998 and as a member in 2000. He has an experimental approach to printmaking, frequently combining established techniques to create new imagery. Subject matter is often industrial with an emphasis on architecture. However, his current work is based on the visual qualities of canal systems.
