Born 1945 Birmingham, Trained at Birmingham College of Art. "My work is nearly always a response to nature, especially plant forms, which I have been obsessed with since childhood. I work in porcelain because I like the clean colours one can achieve, even when using thin washes. After many years when I would have said that form and modeling were the main characteristics of my work, I now feel that I am using the surface of my pieces more graphically than I used to, using drawing and painting, which I love. I have also included glass on some pieces, which I make in my kiln. Each piece is a unique one-off but I often work on themes for periods."
