Louise Sanders

Louise Sanders

Louise trained at Bournville College and the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. She has exhibited in Derby, Walsall and Solihull. Works are represented in collections throughout the world. Fascinated with pattern and colour, Louise’s current work depicts images from her travels to China, Mexico and Tunisia. She is interested in the relationship between tourism, advertising and the reality of a place, as well as western perceptions of the exotic. Influences include Peter Doig, Julian Opie and vintage travel posters. By painting on aluminium, Louise can explore her fascination with the reflections in the chrome-work of 1950s cars. She constantly experiments with the possibilities of her materials and attempts to balance the fluidity of paint with her ‘blocks’ of colour.
